Step Farther Into My World: Creativity, Curiosity, and More

Activism & Mental Health Awareness

LGBTQIA+ Pride
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a participant in pride culture, as well as Pride Club, I love to speak on my experiences and the family I have been blessed with in this community. Throughout the year I make countless visits to queer spaces, whether to see drag performances, support queer art, or meet likeminded individuals. There is strength in community and there is freedom in being authentically yourself. It is worth talking about, advocating for, and allowing yourself to take up space.

Community & Connection

Healthcare
I have a passion for people and providing care where I can. I work at a hospital that treats every patient with compassion and consideration. I am thankful to be part of a team that provides support where it is needed. My job entails charting and caring for patients who are unable to be on their own. This can be people living with dementia, people who struggle with S.I., self harm, withdrawal, and more. I find purpose in my job with each and every interaction.

Farm Life
Alpacas, chickens, goats, rabbits, horses, turkeys…you name it! I am blessed to live on a small farm full of rescue animals who needed a safe place to live. My mom has worked to build an inclusive farm that offers animal therapy and interaction to people in need of extra support. Once a month youth from complex circumstances and living situations gather on the farm to experience the unconditional love our animals have to share.

Holistic & Nutritional Healing
Supplemental care for personal health is another interest of mine. I have spent countless hours studying nutritional and holistic health practices that can best support wellbeing. Working as a vitamin clerk has provided the space to apply this knowledge in a setting where others may benefit. Holistic and nutritional approaches to self care can facilitate feeling more confident in the ability to care for the body and mind.

Visual Arts
Since kindergarten I can recall my fascination with putting a pencil or crayon to paper. My fascination transformed into a true passion as I grew older and expanded to different mediums. I love drawing, painting, crafting, rug-tufting, sculpting, graphic design, and any other art format that allows for self expression.
Additionally, capturing the world through my own perspective via photography allows me to share my vision. I’ve had a camera within arms reach for most of my life, as I have always had a desire to share my experience visually. All the images used on this website page are from my camera or my own art. Cosplay, Drag, & Renaissance
One thing I love about creativity is the ability to immerse myself into a new world. I am in love with Renaissance fairs, Drag and LGBTQIA+ conventions, and anime conventions! Makeup and wardrobe are another fun way I can channel creativity.

Programming & Web Development
A job I dedicate much of my time to is the programming of circuit boards. In short, the boards attach to a bigger device that uses Bluetooth to connect a phone to a motorcycle - enabling you to switch gears at the touch of a button. It is a small piece of a larger product used in performance racing. Additionally, a hobby of mine is web development. This can be through the c++ language, python, HTML & CSS, and more. I also find myself designing websites - such as this one - as a way to engage myself creatively.

Culture, Family & Tradition
My family deeply values the traditions of Swedish culture. In my upbringing I have been lucky enough to find community within my heritage. Every year my family participates in different traditions, such as Midsommar.

Supporting the Arts
My grandfather, prior to passing, always emphasized the value of supporting different art forms. He taught me the value in finding a way to appreciate art that did not necessarily catch my interest. He taught me how to appreciate the skill of others and their craft, a lesson I hold very close to my heart as an adult. I feel connected with him and his memory by attending different productions. His favorite art form, opera, has been something I have made an effort to engage with as a way to stay connected to a beloved family member who lost their life to cancer.

Outdoor Activities
As I have spent the majority of my life as an Illinois resident, I’ve gotten to experience all seasons. In the summer I love to garden and spend time with our farm animals. In the fall I love to harvest pumpkins and explore the local corn mazes. In the winter I love to bundle up and be in the snow. I also love to ski, though Illinois flat farmland does not boast many opportunities in-state. In the spring I get to be part of the births of our new animals, which are often baby goats. Im lucky enough to bond with them as they are bottle-fed. In all seasons I love to explore, hike, and spend time in nature.
Pets
As an animal lover, I would be remiss to pretend a major part of who I am is not a result of the pets I have been gifted the friendship of. My feline best friend (pictured) is a long-haired diluted tortoiseshell cat. Her name is Teddy, and we’ve been attached at the hip since the day I met her (on my 8th birthday, pictured). She has been with me through 12 moves, 3 states, and 17 years of growth together. She holds unparalleled value in my life.
That was a lot about me.
Let’s pause…
What is something you want to share?*
There is always something for me to learn by listening to others.

Through My Eyes
The power to share my experience and perception of the world through a creative lens is an extraordinary gift. In this gallery is a collection of images I’ve captured that I felt offers viewers a chance to see the world anew.
Photography:

Where Creativity Captures Character
Step into the absurd and imaginative side of my gallery:
It would feel limiting to only share images that highlight beauty or aim to evoke deep emotion. While much of my photography embraces those values, it does not fully capture my creativity or character. If I am to share only the best images and conceal the ones that were products of joy or playfulness, it would simply feel performative.
This collection leans into the unconventional—born out of moments that provoked a laugh rather than striving to impress.
The focus shifts from the aim of aesthetic appeal and instead celebrates humor, spontaneity, and the joy of creating without expectation.
